The power of the networked community is growing in geometric proportions and cannot be wished away. Here is a huge mass of people who are knowledgeable, tech savvy, influential, passionate and have the ability to move the world.

As we move on in time, the concept of "word of mouth" is all set to get replaced by "word of web"( WOW instead of WOM). If WOM was a significant influence , WOW will indeed be WOW. Marketeers/politicians need to take cognisance of this changing trend.

It would be time well spent if a group of people sit together and clear the cobwebs that are clogging their view of things to come after which some constructive time in putting together the building blocks that will resemble the path to our future. Such an exercise will set up the perfect context for building product / service strategy for marketeers. Those who miss the context have only one way to go-downwards. This piece of knowledge that has been posted in DNA is wake up call and needs serious introspection.

The Jessica Lal murder case is a case in point where a powerful media platform successfully locked horns with the political and legal establishment and changed the course of events. Thus the world of Internet which is set to be many times bigger and powerful than television media is worthy of a lot of respect from one and all.
