LAHORE ATTACK

Can you imagine this could have been the Indian cricket team. And in case it was the attack might have been even more brutal. Our neighbour is in a state of disarray. Instead of condemning the attack as we always do after one, we need to think about what could happen next. I feel sorry for the average Pakistani. I am sure he is a much worried man today. I doubt whether he can even have a glimpse of what his future is like. And on the other hand some quarters are still in a mode of denial. Pure illogical denial. Who are they fooling after all. Does the common man want an ego or his life and safety. Why are the leaders not understanding? Denial will not take the country anywhere. The story has unfolded. The world has understood it all. There is no place to hide. No support can be expected from any quarters. Either the leaders there decide to remain part of civilized society or become one of them - the terrorists. Acceptance and a desire to beat the past and a firm intent to reclaim their lives will make the world a better place to live. It is time for us to stop getting carried away by hatred and sadism. We need to distinguish between perpetrators of violence and innocent people petrified into silence waiting for their turn on the altar. The innocent are innocent whether they belong to India or Pakistan. I hope some enlightenment dawns on the leaders in Pakistan to cure the cancer. They have admitted to this cancer. And cancer when not cured on time has only one consequence. It seems medication will not suffice. Surgery is needed and faster the powers that are realize the better it will be for all humankind. There is no cause greater than the love of life. Any cause that is against human life is really no cause. True leadership with the willingness to make a change even at the cost of personal sacrifice will only bring stability. I wonder whether there is one somewhere who will emerge. For India the elections are round the corner and I still have to catch a glimpse of a true leader. For Pakistan I wonder whether there exists one at all.
