Leadership
Read excerpts of Steven Covey's 8th principle on leadership. It made immense sense. People should not become a slave of designation's. Leadership spirit need not be bottled up. Leadership means influencing and motivating. So often we motivate our friends, our colleagues, our clients to do certain things which help them achieve a broader objective. That is leadership. We do not have a designation advantage vis a vis these people. Time is short and the potential of achievement is immense. Even slowing down for a single day on the gorunds that the your boss is the bottle neck is nothing short of false self pity. There are numerous ways of reaching the goal post and the mind should be like the google search engines exploring the various routes to attain the same destination. The route of course may not be the same, may not be easy. But one thing is certain. Once the goal is reached the satisfaction is directly proportional to the challenge posed before you. Achievement by definition is against odds. Otherwise it is not achievement. Scoring a one day victory against Bangladesh is not an achievement. Is it? We know who to beat to make us really proud. No need to spell that out. So in my view stay focused, search for alternatives, be flexible, treat hurdles as opportunities and get over them by using alternate approaches (something will work), don't lose the goal and move on with speed. I have actively followed these principles and have seen positive outcomes. Remember time moves on and opportunities pass by. Hence catch the opportunity before it catches more speed and makes it impossible for you to grab it.
